The Top 25 projected markets for the highest real estate appreciation
in 2007 are evidence that the U.S. has many housing markets that are
appreciating strongly.
Eleven states are represented in the Top 25 markets, including New
Mexico. With its bustling growth and strong economy Albuquerque now
emerges at first on the list with a projected hefty 9.1% appreciation
for the year. Growing McAllen, Texas is at the second spot on the
list with projected appreciation of 8.9% in 2007.
An over whelming 22 real estate markets on the "Top 25 List" are
located in the southern half of the nation. A major migration of U.S.
residents from colder climates are moving to the Sun-Belt states,
triggering the higher values in many real estate markets.
Salt Lake City, Utah captured third on the list due in part to
Californians fleeing the "Golden State" for lower home prices. New
Orleans, Louisiana which was formerly ranked as #1 slid into fourth
position.
